Summary:
Hitachi America,Ltd. (www.hitachi-america.us) is looking for a Ph.D./Master's degree holder in Mechanical/Electrical/ComputerScience/Robotics or related engineering field to join our automotive research& development team as a researcher to contribute in the area of advanced driver assistancesystems (ADAS) research. The position will require sound knowledge on sensors(camera, LIDAR), sensor fusion, image processing, and programming skills alongwith hands-on experiments on control systems. The position requires the researcher to work as a team member with goodcommunication and written skills.
Job Duties:
Thecandidate will work in close collaboration with automotive business divisionengineers in the USA and Hitachi R&D in Japan.
Createnew concept, perform experiments, and data analysis to design improved system.
The candidate musthave the ability to make plans and execute them. He/she will perform complexsystem analysis with high level of analytical ability.
Periodic generationof invention disclosures based on research outcome.
Publishtechnical papers and attend/present at conferences and seminars.
Must have a Ph.D./Master'sdegree in Mechanical/Electrical/Computer Science/Robotics or in a related engineeringfield.
Knowledge ofAdvanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving (AD) isrequired.
Research experiencein LIDAR and/or camera is required.
Experiencein ADAS/robotics systems development using LIDAR is a plus.
Priorresearch experience in sensor fusion is preferred.
Knowledgeand experience in image processing is preferred.
Knowledgeof soft computing/machine learning is preferred.
Experienceof using Linux environment and ROS is preferred.
Programmingskills in C and/or MATLAB is required.
Ability to work ina team environment and present research outcome to customers is required.
Candidate shouldexhibit skills in technical writing and time and project management.
Candidatewill need to travel locally and internationally for at least 15% of the time.
