Secondary Science Teacher (DX) and Math Tutor About Aim High:
Aim High School is a private school (grades 6-12), that provides an educational alternative where students feel safe and can focus on academics, health & wellness, and communication & life skills -- a place where they are not overwhelmed by the size, noise, and social expectations of a large school.
Our small class sizes provide our faculty the opportunity to get to know students and families on a personal level.
Job Description and
Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and implement science lesson plans that utilize a variety of instructional strategies and differentiate teaching based on the diverse and individual learning needs of all students Contribute to the design and refinement of the Aim High science curriculum that includes the school's standards as well as the Michigan Standards and Benchmarks Implement classroom management techniques to create a nurturing, safe, and structured learning environment Able to assist and tutor students in high school level math Build positive and trusting relationships with students, families, and community members Analyze informal and formal student assessment results and use this information to drive and inform science and math instruction Communicate and collaborate professionally with teammates Participate actively in all professional development sessions and reflect on teaching craft to make improvements Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Possess a valid Michigan teaching certificate Possession of the requirements for the applicable teacher license Excellent written and oral communication skills Demonstrated desire to work with students who present non-typical learning styles Excellent professional conduct including organization, dependability, accuracy, timeliness and the ability to work well with others Aim High School is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer.
