Remote Java/SQL Developer at By Light Professional IT Services in Remote
Overview By Light is seeking a skilled Java/SQL Developer to support our Department of Veterans Affairs customer. As a Java/SQL Developer you wil be responsible for activities such as program design, coding, testing, debugging or documentation. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and will require minimal management guidance. Primary job duties will be to provide development on the Loan Guaranty System. Responsibilities Help with the support and maintenance of current applications as well as contributing to the development of new ones. Specific responsibilities for this position include:
Be part of a team to design, configure and implement solutions to address technical and business requirements Code, test, debug and refine the solution to produce the required product Prepare required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation Enhance software to reduce operating time and improve efficiency Research and evaluate new related technologies Ensure solutions conform to current industry standards Identify the software components an application will use for implementation and provide guidance on how to appropriately implement application components Required Experience/Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required Minimum 5 years' relevant experience Strong object oriented development and design skills Familiarity with current software development best practices Expert level knowledge of Java/SQL and related technologies:
including Spring Hibernate EJB REST JSON SOAP OpenSSL PKI WebLogic Apache Excellent problem solving skills Great sense of responsibility and attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communications skills Demonstrated ability to deliver complex systems against a deadline Preferred Experience/Qualifications Experience with Veteran Affairs (Current PIV/GFE enablement a plus) Special Requirements/Security Clearance Ability to receive Tier 4 Public Trust - Position requires proof of Covid-19 full vaccination status or qualified exemptions By Light provides a broad range of hardware, software, engineering, and IT integration services. $100K -- $150K
