Responsibilities:
Identifies cost reduction opportunities through component cost analysis and VE workshops.
Drives the evaluation of these opportunities and defines an implementation strategy.
Provides status reports of activities, saving opportunities and savings progress.
Works closely with internal Product Engineering/ Process Engineering and Sourcing teams.
Generate Lesson Learned on cost effective design for the global engineering teams.
Tear down competitor products to analyze cost drivers.
Basic
Qualifications:
1. REQUIRED Specific Knowledge, Expertise, Coursework
Ability to read Engineering drawings incorporating GD&T;
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and experience with SAP would be advantageous
1. REQUIRED Degree and/or Training, including specifically defined educational equivalent
BSc / BA in an Engineering related qualification (Mechanical preferred)
1. REQUIRED Specific Prior Experiences
Component/commodity experience in plastic injection molding, metal pressings, stampings and forgings, cable/connector and assemblies. Knowledge of loudspeaker components (cones, spiders, voice coils, magnets) would be an advantage
Technical Engineering background preferably in the Automotive Industry with at least 3 years hands-on experience of cost analysis and/or Value Engineering
Teamwork, Strategic Thinking and Presentation Skills
Eligibility Requirements:
Willingness to travel 15% of the time
Willingness to work in an office in Farmington Hills, MI
Willingness to submit to a background screen and a drug test
Willingness to participate into conferences with Chinese collaborators mostly scheduled in the evening.
