Summary:
This position is within HARMAN's Lifestyle Division's North American R&D center in Novi, MI. The Acoustics Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support regional and global process/equipment activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-volume manufacturing, automation, and CAD with experience in plastics injection molding processes.

Responsibilities:
This position will have strong influence on Harman's acoustics advanced manufacturing engineering initiatives; supported through frequent regional and global interaction with colleagues to deliver on AME pilot and plant process/equipment launchrequirements. As a functional expert, this role has design concept responsibility on new manufacturing processes and equipment through the following
Responsibilities:
Developnew and additional high-volume manufacturing capabilities with outside integrators from concept through successful operation.
Work with outside suppliers to specify and verify performance of purchased equipment components and assemblies.
Prepare equipment cost quotes and justifies project cost.
Coordinate and plan equipment introduction and installation.
Participate in simultaneous engineering. Work closely with the Process Engineering team to insure that new processes are designed Harman process specifications.
Work with other engineering disciplines and manufacturing to identify cost reduction opportunities.
Initiate design changes for value engineering.
Basic
Qualifications:
BSMET,BSEETor equivalent (10 years) related experience.
Thorough knowledge of machine design concepts
Demonstrated success working with a global team
Solid Modeling CAD experience required
Machine runoff and statistical analysis experience
Demonstrated experience with mechanical automation and integration
Knowledge of PLC and PC machine control (Omron, Rockwell, Visual Basic)
Project finance knowledge/capital budgets and request for appropriations
Project management of timelines and budgets
Preferred Qualifications & Desired Competencies:

Knowledge of machining & fabricating processes.
Knowledge of quick changeover methods and practices
Assembly tool/fixture design experience
Ability to work within time and budget constraints.
