, is hiring for a Resource Manager for multiple facilities in the Metro Detroit Area.
Supporting and reporting to the Regional Manager.
This person will support the Resource Management program emphasizing environmental compliance, solid and hazardous waste management, recycling, waste reduction, and spill response activities.
Job Duties consist of but not limited:
Waste Characterization Identify, characterize, and prepare profiles for waste and recyclable streams to ensure proper disposition; prepare amendments and new profiles as needed.
Obtain signatures from GM Environmental Engineer.
Review and prepare LDR forms and obtain signature from GM Management designee.
Update LDR's annually.
Update EPC002 at least annually or when circumstances change to ensure proper characterization of wastes.
Review and update Waste Characterization Binders as needed to reflect actual circumstances.
Submit revised waste shipment data to WCS, as needed.
Continually evaluate waste streams for the potential to recycle, reuse, reduce, or eliminate them, including finding new suppliers or vendors to manage these materials and preparing cost-benefit analyses.
Coordinate analysis of samples with GM approved laboratory.
Prepare and sign/retain Chain of Custody forms.
Maintain and update analytical log and interpret analysis to properly characterize wastes.
Manage the water sampling program, including but not limited to, coordinating the collection of waste samples for analysis, preparation and tracking of proper documentation Shipments Schedule, coordinate, and manage waste and recyclable shipments and IFS jobs for facility.
Prepare and file all required documentation for waste shipments including shippers, manifests, LDR's, and container inventories Ensure any waste and recyclable vendors are both GM and MPS approved before sending material.
Perform site audits of proposed facilities and assist Lead Resource Manager with preparing MPS Facility Evaluation forms Update shipments into shipment logs on share drive Organize and store shippers and manifests in appropriate binders Record Keeping Update Monthly Invoice Template with accurate shipping and service data Assist as needed with yearly forecasting of waste budgets Assist as necessary with yearly requests for vendor PO's Properly enter PCB shipments in PCB Shipment Log Update shipments into shipment logs on share drive Organize and store shippers and manifests in appropriate binders Store weekly inspections of 90 day rooms in binder Store weekly inspections of buildings in file cabinet Inspections Perform and document weekly satellite waste inspections and file in appropriate location.
Update electronic templates with accurate locations, TC numbers, waste types, and any required dates Perform and document 90 Day Storage Area inspections every seven (7) days, file in appropriate location Participate in weekly team building inspections to identify and correct waste storage issues Ensure assigned buildings have adequate stock of drums, pails, cubic yard boxes, and lamp tubes/boxes Provide visuals and labels for satellite and waste storage areas Immediately correct any episodes of non-compliance such as open or unlabeled waste containers Contact Technician Supervisor/ Technicians if needed to bring supplies or remove items from building Follow up to ensure any environmental issues are corrected General duties Coordinate with and dispatch Resource Management Staff technicians and IFS personnel to complete applicable tasks, specifically spill response Prepare and conduct training for plant personnel, including but not limited to environmental awareness, job specific work instructions, and annual DOT/RCRA/SPCC refresher courses Attend MPS annual RCRA/DOT/HAZWOPER training and computer based modules as required Actively participate in audits and/or inspections conducted by GMAS, MPS, ISO14001, MDEQ, EPA or other regulatory agencies, including but not limited to problem resolution.
Support waste minimization and landfill free activities, including but not limited to attending and providing training or presentations, support recycling initiatives and segregation programs, supply information for BPD boards or scorecards, develop/revise ISO work instructions or procedures, and improve visual management, and attend HMCC meetings as needed.
Review and process vendor invoices Compose, update, and comply with all applicable Task Instruction Sheets and Pre Task Plans Obey all plant- related safety guidelines Follow verbal and written instructions, as directed by Manager Perform other assigned duties, as required MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in environmental or science field program or related experience Strong knowledge of government, environmental, and DOT regulations Must be willing to be on call 24/7 Five years of work experience in the environmental management or hazardous waste management
Qualifications:
Strong financial background.
Ability to use and create Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point applications.
Ability to effectively present information.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
TRAINING:
Current Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA, desired); will provided upon hire Current 40-hour Department of Transportation (DOT, desired); will provided upon hire Current 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) with Annual Refresher (desired); will provided upon hire.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
