Nissan is currently seeking a dynamic individual to fill an opening for a Senior Cost Engineer, Electrical & Electronics, at our Farmington Hills, MI location.
This individual will be responsible for setting target prices for parts, challenging prices, and negotiating prices.
Responsibilities Provide expertise to Engineering and Purchasing in cost estimation and engineering.
Develop competitive piece cost and tooling targets for variety of automotive components.
Work closely with Engineering to develop optimized design solutions ensuring best in class cost and function.
Support Engineering and Purchasing in evaluating design proposals and supplier quotations and assist in negotiations.
Support part level costing for competitor vehicle teardown exercises for benchmarking purposes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required.
Engineering degree preferred.
7-10 years of experience in Automotive components including Lighting, ECU, software test and development.
Estimating experience a plus.
Able to quickly analyze, compare and interpret detailed and sometimes limited information and make sound and accurate conclusions Ability to defend his/her conclusions with detailed evidence and convincing negotiation Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong proficiency in MS Office applications - MS Word and Excel Familiarity with special estimating software or programming skills would be a plus Nissan is committed to a drug-free workplace.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
